Ben and Tanya met in August 2015 at a function at The Swanson Hotel, Erskineville. They both volunteered at the same indigenous community placement program and were seated next to each other by the CEO of the organisation who was cunningly playing Cupid! Over the next few months, Ben and Tanya got to know each other better through regular coffee catch ups and their mutual affection for spicy food! Ben met Tanya’s parents on December 26 which was infamously known as The Boxing Day Test!
Torrential rain and gale force winds didn’t stop Ben from continuing with his plans to propose to Tanya with “an indicative ring” on Sydney’s Harbour Bridge in June 2016. The cubic zirconia was replaced with a shiny diamond in the following weeks!
In the summer, Ben and Tanya had an engagement shoot with Dan Luke in Paddington and Wendy’s Secret Garden in Lavendar Bay. They were completely blown away by the photos and knew they had made the right decision to go with Dan.
The wedding took place on Easter Monday – a perfect Autumn’s day at the end of the long weekend. The ceremony was held at the Anglican Church that Ben and Tanya both attend, St Bede’s Drummoyne. This was followed by an evening reception for 260 people at The Deckhouse at Woolwich. It was an amazing day filled with love, colour, joy and laughter!
