My trip to China wasn’t just me going somewhere shooting another wedding. It was an adventure, lifetime experience. I’ve learned so much about Shanghai and Chinese culture and met so many wonderful people. None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for Chanh and Lily. You remember them from HERE. They have put their trust in me and Invited me to China to document their wedding. I really couldn’t ask for more.
Shanghai is a wonderful and complex place. Imagine all of Australian population living in one big City. That’s Shanghai. It’s crazy busy over there. The wedding was set for Sunday. We’ve arrived on Thursday and planned to have our pre-wedding shoot. Lily and Chanh selected some of the most beautiful and popular locations of the city. It was hot and humid and I think we all lost few kilos just walking around.
The morning of the wedding day started at Chanh’s apartment where all his family and friends were getting ready. Then we were off to Lily’s family home. Wedding ceremony was set on the grounds of beautiful Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai.
After the very hot ceremony, the most elegant reception followed at the Okura Garden Hotel. Whole day was a hum of different languages, as there were guests from all over the world. The food was so nice and there was a band playing classical music which added to the mood. Table decorations were amazing. It was all about Peacock Feathers, because Lily is in love with them. It takes a lot of time and courage to plan a wedding on a different continent and these guys did it perfectly.
On with the story…
